William H. "Babe" Norris
Flag William H. "Babe" Norris, 88, of Richwood died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Marion General Hospital.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a former self-employed farmer and truck driver and hauled for Producers Livestock, Heinhold Hog Markets and many area farmers. He was a 50-year member of Mount Carmel Lodge 303. He was always on the go, enjoying talking, visiting and kidding with family and friends. He never knew a stranger.
He was bom Oct. 18,1915, in Union County to the late Harrison and Blanche Willison Nonis and was predeceased by a sister, Mary Louise Norris. He married Velma Maxine Warner Dec. 4, 1955, and she died June 13,1991.
He is survived by a son, William Ed Norris of Richwood; a daughter, Mary Lu (Kelley) Swartz of Richwood; and two grandsons, Kelton and Kyle'Swattz.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery where veteran graveside services will be conducted by'the Rich-wood VFW and American Legion Posts. Friends may call from 9:30 am. until the time of the service the funeral home where Masonic services will be conducted at'll:15 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals of Union County. 500 London Ave.. Marysville.
