Ira Donald Johnson
Ira Donald Johnson, 88, of 1015 Espyville Road North, died Friday March 7, 1997 at East Lawn Manor.
Born Dec. 25, 1908, in Hardin County near LaRue, he was the son of the late Ralph and Emma Grace (Stiverson) Johnson.
He married Geneva Isabella (Sousley) Johnson on May 6, 1930, and she preceded him in death on May 28, 1991.
Mr. Johnson was a retired farmer and raccoon hunter, a member of the New Bloomington United Methodist Church, Marion County Farm Bureau, and a charter member of the Meeker Sportsman Club.
He is survived by a son, Ralph David Johnson, of Sycamore, Illinois; and six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by a son, a brother, two sisters, and a granddaughter.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue with the Rev. Keith Weller officiating. Burial is in LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
