Bernice Jean (Welch) Jolliff
Bernice Jean (Welch) JolliffLilyBernice Jean (Welch) Jolliff, 91 of Magnetic Springs, died peacefully Tuesday July 20, 2021 surrounded by  her daughters.

She was born January 31, 1930 in Marysville to the late Russell and Lois (Walke) Welch. She was preceded in death, 7 weeks prior, by her husband (James) Donald Jolliff whom she married November 2, 1951. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Eugene Welch and Kenneth L. Welch; and a granddaughter Lorrie Lynn Clady.

Bernice graduated in 1947, a year ahead of schedule, from Leesburg-Magnetic High School as the class Valedictorian. She worked at Scotts and the Union County Auditor prior to her marriage to Don. They lived in their homeplace farm on Askins Road for nearly 67 years before moving in to Assisted Living. She was Don's helpmate in the farm fields - driving tractor, helping move machinery and finding hundreds of arrowheads along the way.

Bernice joined Don's love of nature tending to countless beautiful flower beds, the relaxing goldfish-filled lily pad pond and orchestrating the transplanting process in the greenhouses allowing her and Don to share the bounty of colorful annuals to family, friends, and neighbors. Bernice enjoyed painting as well as silversmith work, making southwest silver jewelry. Quilting was an evening hobby, piecing together heirlooms for years to come. Though she loved her hobbies and handiwork, nothing came close to her love for her kids and grandkids, having a nickname for each one.

Surviving are daughters, Donna (Bob) Clady of Richwood and Kathy Griffith of Bellefontaine; grandchildren: Holli (Eric) Musser, Morgan (Josh) Ream, Heather (Eric) Couch and Gaile (Jeremy) Gildow; great-grandchildren: Emily Musser, Paige Comer, Trent Comer, Colton Musser, Brett Gildow, Wade Gildow, Reed Comer, Gracelyn Couch and Lane Couch; sisters-in-law: Leila Jolliff, Marcia Welch and Sharon (Joseph Robinson); and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as countless friends and neighbors with whom she shared her jokes and love.

Funeral Services will be Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Stofcheck-Ballinger Funeral Home, Richwood with Pastor Judy Cramer officiating. To watch the Livestream of the service open the Facebook app and like our page, or click here Watch the Livestream

Donna & Kathy - Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.  We certainly enjoyed visiting Uncle Donald and Aunt Bernice's house (even it we had to load firewood all day).  The food was always awesome and my favourite is still corn on the cob, closely followed by Old Bay Shrimp and beef & noodles! - Regards, Jeff, Rachel, Chloe, and Arabella.
