Bill Brown, former Richwood Village councilman and contributor
to the Richwood Gazette, died early Thursday morning, Jan. 4,2006, at his home. He was 79. He was an avid traveler in his younger years; he often bragged of hitchhiking across the country on very little money. He was a proud father and grandfather. He was an avid reader and writer; he took great pride in his Internet discussion group, "Thinkers International." He lived in several states, including Texas, California and Ohio, and held many jobs throughout his life. In 1989, he retired from his position as grinder at the former Web Plastics facility on East Ottawa Street in Richwood. He was born Dec. 13,1927, at the home of his late parents Thomas and Dollie Hook Brown on Elm Street in Richwood. He also was predeceased by a son, Orville Thomas Brown II, and a sister, Sandra Brown. He is survived by his wife, the former Joann A. Salomon, whom he married Nov. 28, 1975, in Newark. Also surviving are children, Arrona (Daniel) Comer of Carthage Mo., Cena (Chris) Ladefoged of Union County, Rebecca Jezerinac (Michael) of Columbus, William Redden (Michelle) Brown and Raymond Jezerinac of Richwood, Joseph Jezerinac of Los Angeles, Michael (Candra) Brown and Ben- jamin (Melinda) Brown of Delaware, and Stephen Brown of Colum- bus; 11 grandchildren, Melissa, Brandy, Alex, Dylan, Rachel, Paul, Adam, Ashton, Rhett, Anneke and Cohen; five great-grandchildren, Trevor, Mason, Stephen, Emma and Caleb; brothers and sisters, Car- roll (Betty) Brown of Richwood, Danny Brown of Port Angeles, Wash., Ila LaRue of Richwood, and Ruth Brown of Tucson, Ariz. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Stofcheck Funer- al Home, Richwood. There will be no funeral. In keeping with Mr. Brown's wishes, burial of his cremains will take place at a late date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Park. | |||
