Leila L. Cunningham


Leila L. Cunningham, 87, of Richwood, died early Tuesday morning, Jan.
23, 2007, at The Gables at Green Pastures.
A 1938 graduate of Magnetic Springs High School, she was a homemaker,
longtime member of Pharisburg United Methodist Church and its Women's Society.
She also was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Solitaires, Carpe
Diem, the Country Belles and the Richwood Civic Center and its Kitchen Band.
She was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Delaware, to the late Eden and Alice
Gabriel Ballard. On April 6, 1940, she married William Bernard "Bud"
Cunningham, and he died June 23, 1978. She also was predeceased by a
son, Ronald E. Cunningham; three grandchildren, Brent, Carman and Chris
Cunningham; a great-granddaughter, Mckenna Cunningham; two sisters, Joan
Carr and Marcile Hecker; and a brother, Bernard Ballard.
Surviving are a son, Gary (Gloria) Cunningham of Marysville; a daughter,
Karen Sue (Michael) Hoffman of Richwood; a daughter-in-law, Toby
Cunningham-Collier of Marysville; grandchildren, Chad (Melissa)
Cunningham and their children, Keaton and Kenzie, Curt (Lisa) Cunningham
and their daughters, Chloe and Callie, Carrie Beth Cunningham, Brad
(Penny) Cunningham and their daughters, Halie, Josie and Katie, Brock
(Maryann) Cunningham and their children, Grant and Makayla, Matthew Todd
Hoffman and his sons, Tate and Thane, Stacey (Shon) Pertuset and their
children, Chelsea, Paige and Wyatt and Cory Hoffman and his fiancée,
Renee; and a brother, Donald (Joyce) Ballard of New Albany.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stofcheck
Funeral Home in Richwood, where funeral services will be held Friday at
11 a.m., with Pastor Mo Dunn officiating. Burial will be at Claibourne Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Cunningham's grandchildren.
