Paula Avenius

Paula Avenius, 85, of Essex, near Richwood, died early Wednesday
morning, May 30, 2007, at her home.
She was a homemaker, an accountant, and a trust officer at J.P. Morgan
for many years.
She and her husband split time in Essex at the family farm during the
summer months and in Tenafly, N.J., during the winter.
She was a member of Essex United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her devoted bulldog, Clara.
She was born Oct. 1, 1921, in Richwood, to the late Fred and Clara
McDowell Reeley. She also was predeceased Oct. 19, 1998, by her husband,
David Avenius, whom she married May 30, 1953, in Queens, N.Y., and her
daughter, Nancy Avenius Ransome.
Memorial services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Stofcheck Funeral
Home in Richwood, with the Rev. Bryan Lauzau officiating. Burial will
follow in Price Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Essex United Methodist Church
and/or to a humane society of the donor's choice.
