MARION — Mary Elizabeth Owen, age 100, formerly of Salt Rock Township, died at 7:28 p.m.- Monday, July 9, 2007, at Marion Manor..
She was bom May 9,1907, in Marion, to the late Albin D. and Emma Z. (Scott) White.
On June 3, 1928, she married Emerson Owen and he lied Feb. 23,1974.
Mary was a homemaker and farm wife. Member of the Meeker United Methodist Church, W.S.C.S. was church reasurer, taught Sunday school and Bible school. She attended school at Essex, charter member of the Ruth Artz Circle of Meeker, Lou-rain Literary Club, Salt Rock Joy Makers and Meeker Se-ior Citizens. She was a 4-H advisor, hobbies were cook-ing, sewing, gardening and traveling. She was especially devoted to her family and her church,
She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn F. (Robert) Stidham of Forest; one daugh-
ter in law, Ann Owen of Marion; grandchildren Linda Webb, Gary (Alicia) Oldham, Kenneth G. Oldham, Debra (David) Dunson, Jeffrey (Sue) Owen, Dale (Molly) Owen, Joan (Richard) Wagner and Philip (Wendy) Owen; 19 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Maxine M. Owen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald W. Owen; three brothers, William, Harmon and WW. White; four sisters, Louise Laubach, Helen Wolfe, Grace Harris and Pearl Rumer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Christopher W. Wiseman. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home in LaRue
