Rusha Muriel Hicks


LARUE — Rusha Muriel Hicks, age 82, of 1799 Marion Hardin Road, LaRue, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, at 7 a.m. at her residence.
She was born Feb. 20,1923, in Sharkey, Ky., to the late Harvey and Tabitha (Dickerson) Kegley.
On Nov. 14,1936, she married Willis G. Hicks and he died May 10,1991.
God gave her the heart of a servant and she spent a lifetime caring for and loving her family. She loved to cook massive family meals and she had a passion for sewing and making quilts. She was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary. By profession of faith and the sprinkling of water, she was baptized by the Rev. Jeff Grant on her 80th birthday.
She is survived by seven children, Jack O. (Sue) Hicks of Apollo Beach, Fla., Bill Hicks and Dan P. (Claudia) Hicks of LaRue, Rick (Nancy) Hicks of Cardington, Barbara (Jerry) Adams, Jo Creamer and Pamela (Jim) Warner, all three of LaRue. Grandchildren are Jackie Sayre, Brian (Jean) Adams, Barry (Jennifer) Adams, R.J. (Diane) Creamer, Mike Creamer, Jeff (Rhonda) Hicks, Jennifer (Mike) Thompson, Darren Hicks, Emily McPherson, Adam McPherson and 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Virginia (Bobby) Davis of Tampa, Fla. One brother, James Kegley, and two sisters, Vernie Kegley and Janis Kegley, are deceased.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Jeff Grant. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Those who wish may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Pallbearers will be Brian Adams, Barry Adams, R.J. Creamer, Mike Creamer, Jeff Hicks, Darren Hicks and Adam McPherson.
