Marilyn Jo Knapp


LARUE — Marilyn Jo Knapp, age 66, of 8874 LaRue Prospect Rd. LaRue, died Tuesday May 2, 2006, at 4:05 a.m. at her residence.
She was born April 10,1940, in Marion, to the late Noble Paul and Evelyn A. (Blummenschein) Hoffman.
On Sept. 9, 1961, she married Larry J. Knapp and he survives.
Also surviving are one son, Gregory A. (Caryn) Knapp of Marion; two daughters, Jennifer Conroy and Kristine (Andy) Webb, both of LaRue; one grandson, Kevin Paul Conroy and expecting a granddaughter in August; four brothers, Lloyd Hoffman of Upper Sandusky, Montey Hoffman of Green Camp, Michael (Lori) Hoffman of Marion and Jeffrey (Sharon) Hoffman of Jackson Center; one sister, Shirley Shenefield of Prospect. One son, Kevin Paul Knapp, is deceased.
Marilyn was a registered nurse working in labor and delivery at Marion General Hospital for 30 years. She taught Lamaze classes at the hospital, graduated from Riverside Hospital School of Nursing in Toledo, volunteered with the Red Cross in Japan during the 1960s. After retirement she worked at Dr. Foulk's office. She was a member and Past President of the Marion County Health Board. Active in the LaRue Community, served on the Park Board, was co-chairman of the first Shindig. Helped with the reading program for kindergar-den and first grade at Elgin West.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Green Camp United Methodist Church. Minister will be the Rev. Nancy N. Ratz. Burial at a later time. Family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue is in charge of arrangements.
