James Edward McCoy


LARUE — James Edward McCoy, age 62, of LaRue, died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at 7:28 a.m. at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.
He was born Sept. 16,1943, in Vinton County, to Thomas (Denbo) and Minnie Florence (Reed) McCoy. His father is deceased and his mother survives, living in Marion.
On April 28,1979, he married Linda Litteral and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, James W. McCoy of Mount Gilead, Jeffrey M. (Lisa) McCoy and Jason J. (Kelly) McCoy, both of Marion; two daughters, Paula C. McCoy of Mount Gilead and Tracey L. (Demorris) Brown of LaRue; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Willard (Penny) McCoy of Vinton County and David A. (Diane) McCoy of Brookpark; five sisters, Dorothy Back of Spring, Texas, Lenora Rhoden of Sarasota, Fla., Judy Benge of Marion, Rosemary (David) Green of Sarasota and Ruth Ann McCoy of Marion; mother-in-law Mildred Hoffer of Marion; brothers-in-law Jimmy Ray Goad of Arkansas, Bernie E. Litteral of Marion; and sisters-in-law Marie Snyder of Lima and Edith E. Young of Findlay.
One great-grandson and two brothers, Denbo McCoy Jr. and Elmer McCoy, are deceased.
Mr. McCoy worked in bulk unloading for Quaker Oats. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the '60s. Member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, the Moose Lodge of Marion. He was an avid hunter fisherman, gardener and cook.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at 1 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Ronald Douglas. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
