Ted L. Cox Sr.


Ted L. Cox Sr., 73, of Magnetic Springs, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 24,2006, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was retired from the O.M. Scotts Company where he had worked for more than 20 years.
He enjoyed gardening and driving his tractor and taking care of fruit trees. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and squirrel hunting.
The special joy in his life was his devoted family
He was born Sept. 13,1932, in Whitesville, W. Va., to the late Lee and Emma (Petry) Cox. On Jan. 16, 1954, in Richmond, Ind., he married Joan L. Freeman, and she died April 3, 2006. He also was predeceased by grandsons Michael and Christopher Cox, daughter-in-law Karen Cox and infant brother Gary Richard Cox.
Surviving are children Martha (Bob) Johnson of Newark, Cindy (Rex) Pierce and Debbie (Cox) Lutz of Magnetic Springs, and Leo (Tracy) Cox and Jim (Brenda) Cox of Marysville; brothers and sisters Ernest Cox, William (Juanita) Cox and Scott (Debbie) Cox, all of Magnetic Springs, George Cox and Arthur (Cheryl) Cox of Marysville, John Cox of Delaware, Ella May (Don) Lamb of Chicago, Shirley (Roy) Clemons of Connecticut, and Lois Belcher of Whitesville, W.Va.; grandchildren, Adam and Matt Kater, Garett and Nicole Pierce, Annie and Andrew Lutz, Austin and Conner Cox and Ted and Tess Cox; and six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Stofcheck Funeral Home, Richwood, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mo Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
