Martha Dowell Holsinger, 69, of Marysville, died early Wednesday morning
at Memorial Hospital in Marysville, 2006. She shared a tremendous love for all of her family and friends; to many she was known as "Granny." She will be missed by many. She had a love of music: country, bluegrass and gospel. She also enjoyed bingo, cross stitching, going on walks and playing Pac-Man. She was born Oct. 17, 1936, in Flat Gap, Ky., to the late Benjamin and Hazel McKenzie Evans. She also was predeceased by a daughter, Tina Lynn Dowell; three brothers, Doug, Bobby and Dallas Evans; her first husband, Eugene Dowell; and her second husband who was the love of her life, Victor Holsinger. Surviving are a daughter, Sheila Jean Evans of New Jersey; two sisters, Juanita (Earl) Cantrell of rural Marysville, and Phyllis Hickok of Marysville, with whom Martha made her home the past couple of years; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Claibourne Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Glann officiating.
