Linda L. Pitchford, 63, of Richwood, died unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 9,
2005, at her home. She was retired from the Department of Youth Services in Marion, where she worked as a food service supervisor. She was past president and deeply involved with Richwood VFW Post No. 870 Women's Auxiliary. She was one of the founding members of the Richwood Matinee Club, which had to do with one of her and her family's passions, horses. She enjoyed going to harness races and spending time with her family. She was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Marion, to the late Clyde and Arvilla Carr Rogers. She also was preceded in death by her second husband, Frank Pitchford, to whom she was married Jan. 28, 1966, and who died Sept. 17, 1995. She is survived by her children, Debbie (Larry) Farrington, Barb (Dave) Underwood, Donnie (Kathie) Pfister and Roger (Stephanie) Pitchford, all of Richwood; grandchildren, Stacy Pfister, Spencer Pierce, Ryan Pfister and Alex Pitchford; a great-granddaughter, Izzy Pfister; and her first husband, Don Pfister of Richwood. Calling hours will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stofcheck Funeral Home, Richwood, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Fred Cheney officiating. Burial will be in Claibourne Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Eric Mannasmith, Dave Underwood, Eddie Bibler, Joe Carr, Spencer Pierce and Alex Pitchford.
