William E. Black
GREEN CAMP — William E. Black,age 83, of 110 Columbus St., Green Camp, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at 9:59 p.m. at Heartland of Marion.
He was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Marion County, to the late William and Ethel (McGuire) Black.
On Nov. 19,1951, he married Donna Titus and she died April 10,1982.
He is survived by one stepson, James A. (Beverly) Moody of Marion; one stepdaughter, Sh-eryl (Jeremy) Munson and their daughter Chloe of Columbus; one brother, Paul (Jan) Black of Marion; and one sister, Barbara J. (Clyde) Woodward of Shelby, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews. One brother, Harold Black, and one sister, Virginia Chambers, are deceased.
Mr. Black was a member of the Green Camp United Methodist Church, graduated from Harding High School, worked in maintenance at Marion Power Shovel, retired after 36 years and was a member of the 25 year club at the Marion Power Shovel. He was a World War II Navy veteran and had served in the China Theater.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Green Camp Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Nancy Ratz. There will be no calling hours. The Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue is in charge of arrangements. The Marion County United Veterans Council will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
Those who wish may make contributions to the Green Camp United Methodist Church.
Following the service, everyone is invited to the Green Camp United Methodist Church where a lunch will be served.
