William F. Beltz | |||
William F. Beltz, 71, of rural Prospect, died Thursday evening, Oct. 6,
2005, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a three-year battle with cancer. He worked in maintenance at Quaker Oats, Van Atta Supply, Prospect Elementary School and the former Isaly Dairy. He was a member of the Shiloh Community Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his devoted family. He was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Lovell, to the late Lester P. and Ivarene Matteson Beltz. He also was predeceased by a daughter, Kathleen Blackburn. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann Fox Beltz, whom he married Oct. 12, 1958 at Union Baptist Church; two sons, Vernon (Stacie) Beltz of Richwood, and Philip (Debra) Beltz of Prospect; a son-in-law, Douglas Blackburn of Richwood; grandchildren, Sarah (Chad) Redman, Reuben Blackburn, and Quinton, Kendell, Courtnie, Kaitlin, Coleton, Kelton, Bradley and Audrey Beltz; a great-grandson, Justin Redman; sisters and brothers, Phyllis (Milford) Clark of Nova, Jane Malone, Maude (Tom) Higgins, and Sam (Marlyn) Beltz of Marion, Ray (Blanche) Beltz of New Bloomington, Albert (Carol) Beltz of Florida, and Paul Beltz and David (Tammy) Beltz of Alabama; and a sister-in-law, Janis Bailey of Lakeside. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Stofcheck Funeral Home, Richwood, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with Pastors William Wasserbeck and Robert Schmelzer officiating.
