J. Donald Oberdier

RICHWOOD — J. Donald Oberdier, age 88, of 16977 State Route 739, Richwood, died Monday, March 21, 2005, at 4:55 p.m. at Memorial Hospital of Union County.
He was born July 6, 1916, in Union County, to the late William 0. and Rosa Stuckey (Bloomingdale) Oberdier.
On June 30,1939, he married Lois Jane Glass and she died Sept. 30, 2000.
He is survived by one son, Donald D. (Ann) Oberdier of Vincent; one daughter, Susan (James) Fox of Richwood; five grandchildren, Wil (Missy) Oberdier of Shelby, Russ (Michelle) Oberdier of Vincent, Steve (Cheryl) Oberdier of Cutler, Angela (Rich) Wolfingbarger of Richwood and Chelle Fields of Richwood; 12 greatgrandchildren one sister, Alma Hefner of Beaverdam. One daughter, Cheryl J. Jones, six brothers, Roy, Albert, Ralph, Frank, George and John Oberdier, two sisters, Eva Pat-ton and Mary Elizabeth Oberdier, are deceased.
Mr. Oberdier was a farmer and sheep shearer and worked in maintenance at Rockwell International. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church, Ohio Sheep Shearers Association and the NRA.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Oren Tackett. Burial in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue one hour before service time on Thursday.
