Pastor Charles H. Fye, 65, of Radnor died following a courageous battle
with cancer Thursday, March 10, 2005 at his home surrounded by his family. He had owned and operated a retail meat store in Hughesville, Pa. called "The Ground Chuck" and served on the East Lycoming School Board for 21/2 years. He found the Lord at the age of 32 and at the age of 42 sold his home and business and moved to Uniontown where he worked full time in Canton for Lemons Grocery while attending Malone College full time. While in Uniontown he candidated several churches and was called to the Fulton Creek Friends Church in Radnor. He also attended the Mount Vernon Nazarene College in Mount Vernon where he finished in the adult studies program. He has served on the EFC-ER pastor retreat committee and has been a member of the Richwood Ministerial Association for 22 years where he had served as president and treasurer. He had served on the Delaware/Morrow County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board for four years, one year as chairman. He was a member of the board of trustees of the Richwood Civic Center and served on "Impact" a drug/alcohol program at the North Union Schools. He worked with local hospitals, schools, nursing homes, community events and mental health centers, all in a pastoral capacity. He was a dedicated pastor for 221/2 years at the Fulton Creek Evangelical Friends Church in Radnor. He was also the unofficial pastor at the "Richwood Donut Shop," the Richwood Library and to anyone in the area who did not have a church or pastor. He was born Aug. 1, 1939, in Lock Haven, Pa., to Charles E. and Myra G. (Gardner) Fye. They survive and reside in Mill Hall, Pa. Also surviving is his wife Donna (Laubscher) whom he married on Sept. 12, 1959, in Lock Haven. Other survivors include: two sons, Mark (Jeanie) Fye and Todd (Shelly) Fye, both of Canton; two daughters, Michelle Fye of Columbus and Elizabeth Fye of Radnor; grandchildren, T.J., Angela, Charles, Alison and Abbigaile; sisters, Diana (Joe) Blaschack of Ellicot City Md. and Kimberly (Samuel) Mayes of Seville; a brother Alan (Judy) Fye of Beech Creek, Pa.; a brother-in-law, William (Carole) Laubscher of Mayville, N.Y. and a sister-in-law, Susan (John) Hanna of Boalsburg, Pa. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nephews and a host of fellow pastors and friends throughout the country. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Fulton Creek Friends Church, where friends may call Monday from 3-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Shoup (Thompson Township) Cemetery.
