James H. Baker


James H. Baker, 84, of the Essex area died Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at The Gables at Green Pastures.
He was a farmer and was retired from B.F. Goodrich in Green Camp after 26 1/2 y.ears of service. A 1940 graduate of Richwood High School, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of Phillippi-Clement American Legion Post 101 in LaRue, the Essex United Methodist Church and the former Jackson Grange and a former member of the Farm Bureau Council.
He was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Marion County to the late James M. and Verdie Glaser Baker and was predeceased by three brothers, Leslie, Donald and Philip Baker.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Margaret Chandler Baker whom he married March 12, 1945; children, Robert (Peggy) Baker of LaRue and Gary (Lisa) Baker and Marcia (John) Livingston of Richwood; grandchildren, Amber (Doug) Richardson, Brooke (Matt) Keever, Molly Livingston and Noah Livingston; great-grandchildren, Dalton and Chloe Richardson and Ellie Keever; a brother, Glee Baker of Richwood; and two sisters, Clara Kagy of Fostoria and Alyce (Lloyd) Kagy of Findlay.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Bryan Lauzau will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery where veteran graveside services will be conducted. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
