Geneva Dobberstein


Geneva Dobberstein, 97, died Saturday  July 24,2004 at Marion Manor , Marion.

She was born June 28, 1907, in Prospect to the late Milton S. and Amy (Roberts)
Isler.

On June 28, 1936, she married the Rev. Paul Dobberstein who passed away February 20,1976.

Geneva graduated from Prospect High School and Bowling Green State University.  She taught first grade in Prospect from September 1928 until June 1936.

She was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Prospect where her husband pastored for 46 years.

She taught Sunday School for 36 years, was a member of Katherine Luther Circle and a faithful member of the Bethany Sunday School Class,

She is survived by three sisters- in – law, Erma Isler, Dorothy H. Isler, and Dorothy L. Isler of Prospect.  Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.  Geneva was known as Aunt Geneva by everyone who knew her.

Five brothers, David, Edwin, Robert, Arthur and John Isler are deceased.

The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 28, 2004 at St. Paul’s Lutheran   Church in Prospect, with the Rev. Russell Makant officiating.  Burial is in Prospect Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday July 27, 2004 at Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
