Karen Rae Roberts, 57, of Prospect died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2004, at
Mount Carmel West Hospital. She was formerly a beautician and later worked as a pottery maker for Homer Laughlin China in Newell, W.Va. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed going to the beach, playing with her grandchildren, collecting elephant figurines and being a beautician. She was born Sept. 15, 1946, in East Liverpool to the late Allen And Mary Wilson Downard. She is survived by her husband, Richard Roberts whom she married in 1969; a daughter, Mary (Dave) Poling of Prospect; two stepdaughters, Cheryl L. Miley of Tampa, Fla., and Kim Hetzinger in Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Aaron and Jacob Poling; three step-grandchildren, Ryan Miley, Kyle Rager and Misty Rager; two step-great-grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews, Lisa, Kim, Brian, Craig, Dave, John, Kathy and Kenny; and four sisters, Norma (LeRoy) Hoppel and Mary (Kenny) Anderson of Calcutta, Ohio, and Joyce (Bob) Swogger and Cindy (Kenny) Grimm of Wellsville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect. The Rev. David L. Hoffman will officiate and burial will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. | |||
