Alice Lee Blanton


MARION — Alice Lee Blanton, age 57, of Mound Street, Marion, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at 3:18 p.m. in The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born Aug. 25, 1947, in Magnetic Springs to Eskel Harris Thompson and Martha Maxine Fields Thompson.
On May 5, 1973, she married Jimmie Lee Blanton and he survives.
Surviving besides her husband are her mother, Maxine Fields Thompson Burk and stepfather, Roy Burk of Marion; one son, Eugene H. Thompson; three daughters, Karen (Chris) Culwell, Stacie (Jesse) Blanton-Newland and Jessica Lee Blanton, all of Marion; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Charles (Chris) Thompson, Kenneth (Patt) Thompson and Leonard (Geneva) Thompson, all of Marion; five sisters, Doris (George) Thompson, Chillicothe, Ruth (Eugene) Dunn, Faye (Terry) Welch, Mary (Russell) Dunn, all of Marion and Donna (Mike) Queen of Portsmouth; two stepbrothers, Pat and Bill Burk of Marion and many nieces and nephews. Her father, Eskel Harris Thompson, a brother, Fred Thompson and one grandson, are deceased.
Mrs. Blanton worked for Carey Farms, both as an egg processor and also in the office. She was of the Baptist faith, loved knitting and crocheting, softball and the Cleveland Indians. She contributed to many charities. She had a heart of gold.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at 1 p.m. in the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. George Thompson. Burial in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
