William Eugene "Bill" Corbin


LARUE — William Eugene "Bill" Corbin, age 68,1183 Rich-wood-LaRue Road, LaRue, died Friday, Oct. 22,2004, at 8:45 p.m. at his residence.
He was born June 30,1936, in Marion County, to the late Donald and Virginia (Dutton) Corbin.
On Oct. 15, 1955, he married Janice A. Speakman, and she survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ricky E. (Angela) Corbin of Forest, Randy W. (Marty) Corbin of North Lewisberg and Alan L. (Theresa) Corbin of LaRue; three daughters, Kim Speck (Chad Howell) of LaRue, Rhonda Jordan (Dan Holcomb) of LaRue and Susan Corbin (Odell Daniel) of LaRue; 14 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; one brother, James (Connie) Corbin of Mount Victory; and one sister, Eileen Tootie (Bob) Clement of LaRue; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Corbin worked for 35 years at Quaker Oats, was a member of the Century Club of Quaker Oats, graduated from LaRue High School, former president and lifetime member of the Rushsylvania Rough Riders, last president of the Ohio Contesting Exhibitors Association, Ohio State Highway Patrol Certificate of Recognition for rescue of two traffic victims on Township Road 245 bridge over the Scioto River.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. Burial in the Agosta Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday.
Those who wish may make contributions to either the Quality of Life Hospice or the Bill Corbin Youth Memorial Fund at the Rushsylvania Rough Riders.
Pall bearers will be Rick, Randy and Alan Corbin, Travis Hellinger, Adam Sherwood, Mark Speck Jr., Dan Holcomb and Chad Howell.
