Donald Russell Fown


LARUE — Donald Russell Fown, age 77, of 1155 Richwood-LaRue Road, LaRue, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at 2:12 a.m. at Marion General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 29,1926, in Croton, Ohio, to the late Benjamin and Nina (Annis) Fown.
On Feb. 4, 1950, he married Mary Miller and she died March 14,1996.
He is survived by five sons. Harmon D. (Cindy) Fown of LaRue, Donald D. (Judy) Fown of Claridon, Thomas D. (Kim) Fown of BeUefontaine, Timothy D. (Jackie) Fown of LaRue and Michaei D. (Christina) Fown of Marion; three daughters, Mary Donna (Murl) Jordan of Prospect, Linda Boles of LaRue, and Joan (William) Gattshall of Green Camp; 15 grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herbert (Betty) Fown of Pataskala, Joseph (Pat) Fown of Hillsboro, and Robert Fown of Pataskala; and one ,sister, Ona May Riley of Summit Station. One daughter, Susan Fown, one grandson, four brothers and one sister are deceased.
Mr. Fown was a World War II Army veteran, retired, from Quaker Oats as a mixer operator, was a member of Verne I. Mounts Post 368 American Legion in Prospect and loved hunting.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Tim Pasma. Burial in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Marion County United Veterans Council.
