Dock J. Newsome

MARION — Dock J. Newsome, age 65, of 2469 Harding Highway W., Marion, Ohio, died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at 8:47 a.m. at his residence.
He was born Jan. 6, 1939, in Grethel, Ky., to the late William and Martha Newsome. In December of 1978, he married Jean Williamson and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry (Robin) Newsome of Bellefontaine and Kevin (Melin-da) Newsome of Marion; daughter Sherree (Sean) Barbey of LaRue; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Andy Newsome, William Newsome Jr., and Bill Ray Newsome, all of Floyd County, Ky.; six sisters, Fannie Hall of Peebles, Ohio, Melvina Akers, Mearl Clark, Sola Akers, Emogene Hall and Pauline Green all of Floyd County, Ky. Two brothers, Tolva Newsome and Duran Newsome; half brothers Charles Newsome, Anthony Newsome; half sisters Armina Newman, Cora Moore, Martha Newsome and Golda Tackett are deceased.
Mr. Newsome worked for Ryder-Heil Bronze as a foundry foreman for 44 years. He was a life member of the Hardin County Coon Hunters Club, he loved gardening, hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Burial will be in the LaRue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday.
