Amos P. Swafford

MARION — Amos P. Swafford, age 87, of 6508 Marion Agosta Road, Marion, died Sunday, March 14,2004, at 11 p.m. at Maplewood Nursing Home in Marion.
He was born April 2,1916, in Tennessee, to the late Alfred and Nettie (Roberts) Swafford.
. He is survived by Barb Swafford of Marion; two daughters, Paula Swafford of -LaRue and Jimmie L. (Ernest) Woolum of Florida; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and one brother, Colval Swafford of Tennessee. One daughter, Connie M. Swafford, one grandson, Kenny R. Swafford, one brother and six sisters are deceased.
Mr. Swafford was a supervisor at Marion Power Shovel, a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy and a member of the American Legion Post 162 in Marion.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2004, at the Preston Cemetery in Alger. Minister will be the Rev. C. L. Fuqua. There will be no calling hours. The Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue is in charge of arrangements.
