Lucille Cramer, 84, of Essex died Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at Marion
General Hospital. A graduate of Ostrander High School, she was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress out of her home. She attended the Essex United Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader for more than 25 years with the Stitch & Stir Club. She used to square dance with the Village Squares in Pharisburg and the Circle Stars in Marion. She was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Union County to the late Melvin Lee and Mary Elizabeth Jerew Douglas and was predeceased by two sisters, Helen Ledley and Gertrude Phipps Redmond. She married Francis B. Cramer Jan. 20, 1938, in Claibourne and he died Nov. 19, 1990. She is survived by five children, Martha (Joseph Jr.) Ventolo of Enon, Georgiana (Edward) Almazon of Gordan, Ga., Elizabeth (Vernon) Jones of Essex, Francis "Eddie" (Ruth) Cramer of Marysville and David (Karen) Cramer of Dayton; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Lee (Ruth) Douglas Jr. of East Liberty and Richard Douglas of Otisville, Mich.; and a sister, Isabella Moffet of Alabama. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Revs. James Woodward and Dan Grose will officiate and burial will be at the Price Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Essex United Methodist Church, 32697 Route 37, Richwood, or Union County Meals on Wheels, 500 London Ave., Marysville. | |||
