LUCILLE B. STAFFORD SCHAMBS
Lucille B. Stafford Schambs, 72, of Richwood died Friday, Nov. 1, 2003, at her home.
She was retired as a cook at the North Union Schools. She was a ember of the Richwood First United Methodist Church, Mary chapter 9 Order of the Eastern Star, Better Mothers Club and Rich-ood Civic Center. She enjoyed traveling abroad, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She was born March 21, 1931, in Avery County, N.C., to the late rville and Pearl Burleson Stafford and was predeceased by three others, Harlan, Bill and Don. She married Edward A. Schambs IV ine 14, 1960, in Portsmouth, Va., and he died Aug. 24, 2003. She is survived by a son, Edward A. (Alisa) Schambs V of Rich-ood; a daughter, Sheila Black of Newland, N.C.; three grandchil-en, John and Evan Schambs and Margaret Hardin; two sisters, Clarie (Jack) Cook of Gastonia, N.C., and Betty (Frank) Burleson of Bristol, Tenn.; and two brothers, Wayne Stafford of Sedro Wooley, Vash., and Howard (Millie) Stafford of Newland, N.C. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Joseph Rhea will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where an Eastern Star service ill be held at 7:45 p.m.
