Mary Elizabeth Lodwig Wyatt, 84, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at
Parkview Medical Center in Riverside, Calif. She was a graduate of Marion Harding High School and attended Capital University. She completed catechism and was confirmed as a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Marion. During World War II she worked for the U.S. Army Depot in Marion, assisting in the procurement of necessary supplies and services for the war effort. She lived form approximately 1950 to 1973 at 128 Blaine Ave. in Marion and in 1973 moved to Richwood and began work as office manager and co-owner with her husband of Wise's IGA Supermarket until their retirement in early February 1986. She was the sole survivor of a car accident that killed her husband on Feb.. 26, 1986. She became a resident of the Richwood Community Apartments in April 1986 and lived there until March of 2000 when she moved to Riverside, Calif. She was a resident of Magnolia Retirement Center in Riverside and later moved to the Sky County House in Mira Loma, Calif. She was born Feb. 26, 1919, in Marion, the youngest child and daughter of Ray Thomas and Minnie Matilda Wolfinger Lodwig and was predeceased by a brother, John T. Lodwig, and on Feb. 26, 1986, by her husband, John Brundige Wyatt Jr. whom she married Nov. 17, 1946. She is survived by a son, John B. Wyatt III of California; two grandchildren, John B. Wyatt IV and Jacqueline Eva Marie Wyatt; two nephews, Ray T. Lodwig of Xenia and John T. Lodwig Jr. of Dearborn, Mich.; and a niece, Lynne Lodwig Maxim of Ellsworth, Maine. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. William Maki will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary E.
