LARUE — Gerald Neely Copeland, age 91, of 972 LaRue-Green Camp Road, LaRue, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at 5:50 a.m. at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky.
He was born Feb. 19,1912, in Pickereltown, to the late Stephen and Grace (Dixon) Copeland.
On Sept. 7, 1932, he married Oneita Ruth Brunson and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Stanley Allen (Joyce) Copeland of Cocoa, Fla., Gary Michael (Edith) Copeland of LaRue; one daughter, Linda (Larry) Crowe of Chandler, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; one half-brother. Roland V. Briggs of Mansfield, and one half-sister, Edna Neimeister of Tulsa, Okla. One grandson, two great-grandsons, five brothers, one sister and one half-sister are deceased.
Mr. Copeland worked as a foreman at Marion Power Shovel and then as a steel worker at Pollock Steel. He was a member of the Bible Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Bible Wesleyan Methodist church in Marion. Minister will be the Rev. Gary L. Brugger. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. The Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue is in charge of arrangements.
