Clara Jane Britton


RICHWOOD — Clara Jane Britton, age 79, of 32680 Osborne Road, Richwood, died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at 7:10 p.m. at her residence.
She was born Aug. 21, 1923, in Marion County, to the late James E. and Dorothy L. (Williams) Trumbo.
On Jan. 30,1942, she married Clifford Ray Britton and he died Aug. 20,1992.
She is survived by one son, Jim R. Britton of Richwood; one daughter, Nancy J. (Bob) Far-rington of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Jeff Britton of Richwood, Debbie Pyers of York Center, Brian Farrington of Marion and Shelly Oakley of Jackson Center; six great-grandchildren, Olivia, and Jordan Britton, Jared and Ashley Pyers and Jessica and Ryan Oakley.
Mrs. Britton was a homemak-er, worked on the farm, loved her family and friends, traveling, playing music, playing cards and sewing crafts. She was a 1941 graduate of New Bloomington High School and former member of the Mother's Club of Byhalia.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 24, 2003, at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate. Burial in the Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
