Olive Ann Blankenship


Olive Ann Blankenship, 78, of Green Camp died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at
Marion General Hospital after a short illness.
She was a 1942 graduate of Marysville High School and with her husband,
owned the White Swan Restaurant for 25 years then Babe and Ollie's
Grocery in Green Camp for five years. She was an avid sports fan,
especially of the Elgin Comets and the Ohio State Buckeyes. The one
thing in her life that brought her the most joy was her family, her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Lewistown to the late William E. and
Jesse Murphy Zolman and was predeceased by a sister, Betty L. Brelsford
and a brother, William B. Zolman. She married Babe R. Blankenship Feb.
8, 1950, in New Castle, Ind., and he died Jan. 8, 1998.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Lloyd) Smith of Charleston,
Tenn., Lacy (Eva) Blankenship, Lari (Brenda) Blankenship and Lyle
Blankenship of Prospect and Lonn (Gabrielle) Blankenship of Panama City,
Fla.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a special
friend, Patti Henderson of Green Camp. She was a special aunt to Linda
Brelsford and Pam Axline of Marion and Bill Brelsford of Middletown.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Stofcheck
Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Nancy Ratz will officiate and burial
will be at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
