Paden Gene Welsh


Paden Gene Welsh, 76, of Richwood died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at The
Gables at Green Pastures.
He was a 1945 graduate of Richwood High School where he was active in
sports. He was a retired farmer and had also sheared sheep. He was a
U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the occupation of Italy.
He was a member of the Richwood Church of Christ and an active life
member of Richwood VFW Post 870 and Baccarat American Legion Post 40
where he was for many years the leader of the veteran funeral detail. He
was a member of the Richwood Matinee Club, Ohio Farm Bureau, Marysville
Parkinson's Support Group and Richwood Civic Center.
He was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Delaware County to the late Wattie and
Roxie Evans Welsh and was predeceased by a brother, Ross.
He is survived by his wife, Janis L. Patrick Welsh whom he married Oct.
26, 1947, at the Richwood Church of Christ; a daughter, Julie (Dan)
Wisma of North Lewisburg; and two step-grandsons, Andy and Kevin Wisma;
a sister, Mary Ann (George) Click of Marion; two brothers, Ted
(Virginia) Welsh of Radnor and Bob (Pat) Welsh of Richwood; and many
nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Stofcheck
Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Scot Gorsuch will officiate and
burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery where veteran graveside
services will be conducted by the Richwood VFW and American Legion
posts. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Jeff and Max Robinson, Randy and Jerry Moore, Ron
Belville and Jim Johnson. Larry Nibert will be an honorary pallbearer.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Parkinson's
Society or VFW Post 870 in care of the funeral home.
