KENNETH VANZANT
Kenneth VanZant, 93, of Richwood died early Sunday morning, Dec. 29, 2002, at his home.
He was born July 18, 1909 in Gallia County to the late Carl and Stella Baird VanZant. On Aug. 28, 1930, at Kirkpatrick, he married Bumetta Burris and she died July 23, 1994. Also preceding him in death was a brother, William VanZant and one great-great-grand child.
A farmer, he was a 50-year-member of the Richwood Fair Board, member of the former Richwood Lions Club and Richwood Civic Center where he enjoyed playing euchre. He attended the Richwood First United Methodist Church and enjoyed his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, gardening and watching football on television.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara J. Matteson of Richwood; iwo grandchildren, Judy McComas and Tim (Becky) Matteson of Richwood; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchil-" Jren and a sister, Doris Wissler of Marion.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood where friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Price Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Rhea officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richwood Independent Fair.
