Robert Owen Watkins

MARION — Robert Owen Watkins, age 82, of 511 Shady-side Circle, Marion, formerly of LaRue, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at Marion General Hospital.
He was born Aug. 4,1920, in Urbana to the late Samuel O. and Nellie (Williamson) Watkins.
On Aug. 9, 1941, he married Gladys M. Rosebrough and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John L. Watkins and William R. (Pamela) Watkins, both of LaRue; two daughters, Kathleen (Allen) Barrett of Kenton and Linda L. (Michael) Sens of Marion; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy (Robert) Skeele of Columbus, Marjorie (Lee) Foreman of LaRue and Fern (Roger) Smith of Marion. One brother, Richard D. Watkins, and one sister, Wilma I. Rosebrough, are deceased.
Mr. Watkins was a farmer, member of the LaRue United Methodist Church, was a Bowling Green Township trustee, Bowling Green Township Justice of the Peace, was on the ASCS county committee, board of directors of the Green Camp Elevator and board of directors of the Production Credit Association.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 3,2002, at 11 a.m. at the Stof check Funeral Home in LaRue. Minister will be the Rev. Edward Fugate. Burial in the Price Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in LaRue from 2-5 p.m. Monday.
Those who wish may make contributions to either the LaRue United Methodist Church or the Parkinsons Support Group in Marion.
