Vi Maxwell


Vi Maxwell, 90, of Richwood died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, at The Gables in Green Pastures.
She worked at the Cardinal Market in uptown Richwood and was a devoted member of the Central United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers and playing cards with the girls and most of all, she loved her family.
She was born June 16, 1912, in Walkerville (Windsor), Ontario, Canada, to the late James and Isabella Howart Irving and became ai United States citizen June 26, 1945. She was predeceased by a! brother, David Irving; two sisters, Meg Belanger and Issy Providen- ■ ti; a granddaughter; and a grandson. She married Archie Cook; Maxwell Dec. 24, 1934, and he died April 12, 1983.
She is survived by two daughters, Dolores (Mike) Bernhard of, Prospect and Debby (Bill) Hoopes of Delaware; a son, Bob (Karen)-Maxwell of Raymond; five grandchildren, Matthew (Nancy) Bern-' hard, Martin (Chrissy) Bernhard, Monica (Tim) Harker, Jennifer (Dane) Converse and Kim Maxwell; step-grandchildren, Billy (Cindy) Hoopes and Carrie Hoopes; 13 great-grandchildren; a step-great-granddaughter; a great-great-grandson; and a niece, Phyllis (Frank) Lauzon and nephew, Frank (Judy) Providenti of Windsor, Ontario.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Bryan Lauzau will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Pall bearers will be Bob Maxwell, Bill Hoopes, Mike Bernhard, Frank Lauzon, Frank Providenti and Lodi Taylor. Honorary pall bearers will be Matthew and Martin Bernhard.
