Mary Jane Carr


PENNINGTON, N.J. — Mary Jane Carr, 81, of Pennington, N.J., died Oct. 15, 2001, at the Medical Center at Princeton.
Born in Morral, Ohio, she was a former school teacher in Ohio and county supervisor of special education. She had resided for 23 years in Bayonet Point, Fla. where she was former director of Christian education at the First United Methodist Church of New Port Richie, Fla. and was the founder of the Wee Wisdom Preschool program of the church. She was a graduate of Kent State University and attended Ohio Wesleyan University and had a bachelor of science degree and masters degree in education. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and Kappa Delta Sorority. She graduated cum laude from Kent State University.
Daughter of the late Lowell Dwight and Daisy (Dickason) Stouffer, she is survived by one son, William L. (Margaret Sue) Carr of Redding, Conn.; one daughter Becky (Dennis) Fili-dore of Pennington, N.J., with whom she resided for the past year; a sister, Dorothy Dennis of LaRue; three grandchildren, James Scott Serridge, Laura Carr and Matthew Carr; and a nephew, Ross Dennis.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 16, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the LaRue Cemetery. Minister will be the Rev. Edward W. Fugate.
