Georgie P. Tanner


Georgie P. Tanner, 94, formely of Richwood, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Marion General Hospital. She had made her home for the last 14 years with her daughter Betty in Marseilles. She was a 1926 graduate of Wyandot High School and retired in 1972 after 20 years of service at Marion Power Shovel. She was a member of Community Christian Center in Upper Sandusky and while living in Richwood, she was a member of the Somersville Friends Church and was still active with the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed collecting dolls and salt and pepper shakers and doing word searches. She was dedicated to reading her Bible.
She was born in Wyandot to the late Nathan F. and Jeanette Wintz Kheune and was predeceased by two sons, Calvin and Ralph Brady; a brother; three sisters, her first husband, Leonard D. Brady; and on July 10,1987, her second husband, Leroy E. Tanner whom she married July 15,1954.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty J. (George) Shuler of Marseilles; three sons, Richard G. (Pearl) Brady of Chesterfield, Mich., Donald W. (Mary) Brady of Richwood and Lloyd D. Brady of Springfield; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nine-great- great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. William Williamson will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
