Ruth R. Smith

Ruth R Smith, 92, a lifelong resident of Union County and formerly of the Richwood Community Apartments, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at Morn-ingview Care Center in Marion where she had lived for the last four years.
She was retired from the former Glosser's Greenhouse in Richwood and had answered phones for the Stofcheck Funeral Home. She was a longtime member of Richwood Central United Methodist Church and a former member of the Richwood Civic Center.
She was born Aug. 27, 1909, in Union County to the late Clyde S. and Bertha Norris Chandler and Was predeceased by a brother and two sisters. She married Marion J. Smith Aug. 6,1927, and he died Jan. 28,1968.
She is survived by three sons, Marion (Betty J.) Smith Jr. of Pataskala, Donald E. (Esther) Smith of Johnstown and Vernon Lee (Jackie) Smith of Pleas-antville; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Bryan Lauzau will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 22 E. Blagrove St., Richwood.
