Marion L. Jerew


Marion L. Jerew, 79, of Richwood died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at his
residence following a short illness.
He retired from the former Pollack and Armco Steel Plant in Marion in 1982.
He was a veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of Richwood VFW Post
870 and Amvets Post 102 in Delaware. He was formerly active with the Marion
Airfoil Club and enjoyed wood working and fishing.
He was born May 23, 1922, In Jackson Township to the late William S. and
Martha Dell Douglas Jerew and was predeceased by two sisters, Maxine Wood
and Hazel Florine Jerew and a son-in-law, Rick Britton.
He is survived by his wife, Edna L. Zigler Jerew whom he married Feb. 24,
1942; two sons, Rollin (Linda) Jerew and Steve (Peggy) Jerew of Richwood; a
daughter, Charlotte Britton of Delaware; seven grandchildren, Roger
(Martha) Jerew, Tim (Suzanne) Jerew, Steve (Kim) Jerew, Robby Williams,
Roger Williams, Donovan Britton and Lora Britton; nine great-grandchildren,
Jessica, Allison, Loren, Nick, Alisha, Bradley, Hunter and Chance Jerew and
Caitlan Britton; four brothers, Kenneth Jerew of Byhalia, Bill (Grace)
Jerew and Bob (Shirley) Jerew of Richwood and Jerry (Deloris) Jerew of
Green Camp; and a sister, Patty Ann (Lorain) Bassinger of Kenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral
Home in Richwood. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and burial will be at
the Price Cemetery where veteran's graveside services will be conducted the
Richwood VFW Post 870. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
