Ralph B. Stillings


Ralph B. Stillings, 85, of rural Richwood died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Marion General Hospital.
He was a farmer and retired from Marion Power Shovel in 1978 after 19 years of service. He had also worked at Timken in Kenton. He had attended Grace Chapel and the Byhalia Friends Church. He was an avid O.S.U. Buck-eye fan and loved to fish, wood work and camp.
He was bom Sept. 1, 1915, in Union County to the late John and Alice Parthemore Stillings and was predeceased by a grandson, Jeff Mackley; two brothers, Robert and William Lewis Stillings; and two sisters, Edna Beightler and Donna Streng. He married Mary E. Fisher Jan. 23, 1937, in Union County and she died Nov. 24, 1983.
He is survived by his second wife, Vera Viola Thomas Stillings whom he married April 16, 1984, in York Center; three sons, John (Judy) Stillings of Findlay, Bob (Sharon) Stillings of Claibourne and Louis (Marilyn) Beightler of Marysville; two daughters, Barbara Lee of Worthington and Betty (Richard) Gerfen of Waldo; grandchildren, Debbie (Jeff) Parkins, Theresa (Todd) Finner-ty, Brian Lee, Brett Stillings, Shelly (Ben) Powell, Shelby (Ben) Bender, Christopher (Kristine) Stillings, Ryan (Jen) Stillings, Scott, Gary, Todd, Heidi, Joshua (Twyla), Joey, Britni and Bryani Stillings, Steve (Amy) Beightler and Lisa (John) Howard; great-grandchildren, Abby and Andy Parkins, Tim and Taylor Finnerty, Trevor and Tyler Bender, Taylor Stillings, Chandler and Chayse Stillings, Sheena, Robbie, Johnathan and Kyla Stillings, Kimberly, Matthew and Stephen Beightler, Justin and Allison Howard and Aaron Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. David Carlyle will officiate and burial will be at the Byhalia Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
Pall bearers will be the grandsons of the deceased.
