Matthew Kratowicz


Matthew Kratowicz, 58, of Marion died Thursday, March 1, 2001, at Heartland of Marysville.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in Korea, and retired in 1999 after 30 years of service as a tow motor operator at the Whirlpool Corp. in Marion.
He was bom May 9, 1942, in Chicago, 111., to the late Meseslaus Joseph and Jean Antoinette Nowakowski Kratowicz.
He is survived by two sons, Mark (Tamie) Kratowicz of Marysville and Patrick (Patty) Kratowicz of Richwood; a daughter, Kaki (Tom) Johnston of Richwood; five grandchildren, Cody, McKenzie and Makaylin Johnston and Tiffaney and Zachary Kratowicz; four sisters, Jean Kratowicz of Oaklawn, 111., Marlene (Dan) Ragonese of Calumet City, 111., Diane (Giuseppe) Labri-ola of Lansing, 111., and Jackie (Stan) Sucharski of Chicago; and a brother, Dennis Kratowicz of Chicago.
The Rev. Scott Gorsuch will officiate at private graveside services to be held at the Price Cemetery Saturday. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood.
