Christa Louisa Hastedt


Christa Louisa Hastedt, 90, of Bartow, Fla., formerly of the Richwood area, died Wednesday, Jan, 10, 2001, at the Rohr House in Bartow  She was graduate Richwood High School and a long time member of the Richwood First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in the women's society. She had worked for the telephone company in Marysville and was active with the former Claibourne Grange, Farm Bureau Council and King's Daughters and was a 50-year member of Mount Carmel OES 42 in Richwood.
She was born Aug. 13, 1910, at the Swartz family home near Essex to the late William A. and Lucy Sparks Swartz and was predeceased by two grandchildren, Kim Asbury and Brad Randall; a brother, Claud Swartz; and three sisters, Esther Young, Ethyl Engle and Ethel Wasserbeck. She married Zane Baker Randall Jan. 4, 1934, and he died Feb. 13,1964. She then married Paul Hastedt and he is deceased.
She is survived by a daughter, Doris (Don) Ransome of Lakeland, Fla.; a son, William (Donna) Randall of Auburndale, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kent (Kelli) and Douglas (Connie) Randall and Chris (Becky) Ransome; seven great-grandchildren, Christa and Evan Ransome and Chris, Tatiana, Gayle, Kyle and Minday Randall; a brother, Paul Swartz of Richwood; a sister, Daisy Warner of Richwood; and a brother-in-law, Cliff Wasserbeck of Richwood.
The Rev. Barb Stevens will officiate at graveside services to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Satursday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home,
