Dayton Earl Jividen


Dayton Earl Jividen, 85, of Richwood died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Marion
Manor Nursing Home.
He retired in 1977 after 36 years of dedicated service from Commercial
Steel in Marion where he worked as a steel grinder. He was a member of
Community United Calvary Church and the First United Methodist Church of
Richwood. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening, reading, camping
and traveling.
He was born April 4, 1915, in Putnum County, W.Va., to the late Robert and
Dulcie Pitchford Jividen and was predeceased by two daughters, Muriel Evans
and Juanita Eaches; two brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Daughterty Jividen whom he married in
April 1934 in Robertsburg W.Va.; four daughters, Janice (Kenneth) Lindstedt
of Waldo, Bonnie (Bob) Dill of Loveland, Colo., Marilyn (Larry) Hauk of
Cusseta, Ga., and Eileen (Jerry) Pfarr of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sons,
David Jividen of Richwood and Michael (Ruth) Jividen of Hilliard; 16
grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Bill Eaches of Waldo;
and a sister, Arlene (Frank) Laffler of Merritt Island, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Stofcheck Funeral
Home in Richwood. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and burial will be at
the Claibourne Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
