John Levi (Roseberry) Price


MARION — John Levi (Roseberry) Price, 75, died at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Price, known to his friends as "Hoopie" or "Junior" is survived by his wife, Patricia R. (Laurent) of 54 years and four daughters, Linda J. Reinwald of Delaware, Beverly R. Price of Stowe, Vt., Dodie R. (Thomas C.) Judd of Farm-ington Hills, Mich, and M. Alice Price of Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Price has four grandchildren, Kyle A. Reinwald of Marion, Jon C. Judd, Thomas D. Judd and Erika L. Judd all of Michigan.
Mr. Price was born in Marion, Ohio, on Jan. 9, 1925, to Bismark L. and Otta M. Rose-berry and was later adopted by Edward and Alverta Price. Mr. Price has one surviving half sibling, Ella Mae (Robert) Lehner of Marion and two deceased half siblings, Pearl and Clovis Mann.
He was fortunate to have enjoyed an extended foster family consisting of four brother, Ed (Sherry) Denman of LaRue, William (Donna) Denman of Richwood, Benton Jr. (Jo) Denman of New Bloomington and Victor Denman (deceased) and six sisters, Iman (Harold) Robinson and Ruth (Eston) Williams, both of LaRue, Phylis (Charles) Leeth and Ann (Neil) Denman, both of Marion and Ferol (Foster) Kale of Richwood and Letha Shirea (deceased).
Mr. Price was a retiree of Tecumseh Products and the Marion Juvenile Center and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW Post 7201, the American Legion Post 162 in Marion and past president of the LaRue Lions Club.
The family will receive visitors at Stofcheck Funeral Home in LaRue on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. His family would like to invite anyone to share stories of his extraordinary life during either time. Services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. at Stofcheck Funeral Home with graveside services at Fairview Cemetery at LaRue, officiated by the Rev. Father William Patterson of Portsmouth. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Phillippi-Clement Post 101 American Legion of LaRue.
