Claude B. Estep, 77, of Richwood and formerly of Ashland died Friday
morning, June 9, 2000, at Marion General Hospital. He was born July 4, 1922, in Bracken, Ky., to parents Anderson Todd and Lottie Welch Estep. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a retired operator engineer. On May 12, 1943, in Maysville, Ky., he was married to the former Frances E. Jones and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Barbara (Dave) McCracken of Richwood; four granddaughters, Tabatha (Brian) Saunders of Marion, Jennifer (Dave) Hawkins of Richwood, Amber and Melissa McCracken of Richwood; two great-grandchildren, Brianna Showalter and Dawson Hawkins; eight brothers, Andy (Joyce) Estep of Cincinnati, Wilbert (Shirley) Estep of Felicity, Herb (Carol) Estep of Mt. Orab, Leo (Ona-Lee) Estep of Blanchester, Emmery Estep of South Carolina, Roger Estep of Felicity, Morris (Cindy) of Walton, Ky., and Billy Estep of Blanchester; and a sister, Essie Welch of Maysville, Ky. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, Robert, Charlie, Gene, James, Paul, Earl Dean and Donald Estep, and one sister, Elise Estep. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Moore & Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville, Ky. Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood and Sunday at the Moore & Parker Funeral Home in Brooksville from 6 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in the Brooksville Cemetery where there will be veteran graveside services conducted with the Rev.
