Herbert L. James


Herbert L. James, 47, of Richwood died Sunday, April 16, 2000, at the James Cancer Hospital after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was a 1972 graduate of Elgin High School, was an associate of Honda of America and enjoyed fishing and camping.
He was born Sept. 25, 1952, in Kenton to Herbert G. and Anna Gibson James and was predeceased by a daughter, Erin Y. James on April 1, 2000.
He is survived by his parents of New Bloomington; his wife, Beverly Lumpkins James whom he married April 7, 1973, in Marion; a daughter, Kristen L. James of the home; two brothers, Michael G. (Jeannie) James of Marion and Thomas James of Richwood; a sister, Dianna (Wayne) Smith of New Bloomington; and special friends, Benson and Mildred Huff of Little Switzerland, N.C.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Essex United Methodist Church. The Rev. George Freer will officiate and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood.
