Erin Yoshino James, 20, of near Richwood died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at her home after a 3/2 year battle with bone cancer.
She was a 1997 graduate of North Union High School and was attending Marion Technical College. She worked part-time at Champaign Landmark in Richwood as a abookkeeper. She was a member of the Essex United Methodist Church and attended the Somersville Friends Church.
She was a former member and current advisor of the Marion County Rough Riders 4-H Club and former member of the Jackson Stars 4-H Club. Her love in life was her work with her horses and her dream was to be a professional horse trainer. She was a member of the Ohio and International Buckskin Association and showed her horse, Erin's Pride, professionally at Ohio Buckskin Association horse shows last year.
She was born April 28, 1979, to Herbert L. and Beverly F. Lumpkins James.
She is survived by her parents; a sister, Kristen James of the home; pater-nal grandparents, Herbert G. and Anna James of New Bloomington; mater-nal grandparents, Kenneth and Helen Lumpkins of Marion; adoptive grand-parents, Ben and Mid Huff of Switzerland, N.C.; aunts and uncles, Kenneth Lumpkins Jr. of Delaware, Sharlene Green (Jeff Shield), Brian (Tena) Lump-kins and Michael (Jeannie) James of Marion, Geri (Steve) Lust of Prospect, Dianna (Wayne) Smith of New Bloomington and Thomas James of Rich-wood; 18 cousins; and seven second cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home. Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Essex United Methodist Church-. The Rev George Freer will officiate.
