Chester A. Messer


Chester A. Messer, 62 of Richwood died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, at Marion General Hospital.
He was retired from, the Fairfield Engineering Company in Marion where he had worked for more than 20 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was born Sept. 3, 1937, in Ashland, Ky, to the late Roscoe and Eva Pridemore Messer and was predeceased by a brother, Henry Messer and a sister Willa Myers.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene Y. Barr Messer whom he married in December 1968 in Columbus; three sons, Joseph (Delanna) Morone of Springfield, Frank (Maureen) Morone of Marion and Dan (Lisa) Morone of Ostrander; two daughters, Mary (Bobb) Pearson of Richwood and Teressa (Ron) King of Indian Lake; five grandchildren, Belinda (Eric) Hines and Richard, April, Justin and Jacob Morone; three great-grandchildren, Eric Hines Jr., Chester Hines and Nicholas Morone; two sisters, Faye (Frank) Hall of Marysville and Beverly Sweeney of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Ron Myers of Pleasant City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood. The Rev. Fred Cheney will officiate and burial will be at the Claibourne Cemetery where veteran services will be conducted by Richwood VFW Post 870 and American Legion Baccarat Post 40.
