Ruby L. Hedges, 85, of Columbus died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Doctors North
Hospital after a short illness. She was retired as a housekeeper at Marion General Hospital and OSU Hospital. She a 1933 graduate and valedictorian of Prospect High School. She was a 42-year member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Prospect and had transferred her membership to Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus during the last few years. She was born April 2, 1914, in Marion to the late Charles W. and Rella Eliza Russell Clements and was predeceased by a son, Dan; and two brothers, Paul and Fred. She married Fred J. Hedges June 16, 1935, and he died Jan. 17, 1965. She is survived by two sons, William A. (Deanna) Hedges of Hilliard and Lyle J. (Linda) Hedges of Marysville; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Erwin (Susie) Clements of Lancaster and Floyd (Ruth) Clements of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three sisters, Esther (Ward) Powell of Cardington, Blanche Rutherford of Columbus and Velma (Ray) Brehm of Powell. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Prospect Cemetery. The Rev. Roy Godfrey will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 200 E. Water St., Prospect, Ohio, 43342, or Trinity Lutheran Church, 404 S. Third St., Columbus, Ohio. The Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood is in charge of arrangements. | |||
