Richard C. Davis


Richard C. Davis, 65, of Richwood died early Sunday morning, Dec. 26, 1999 at the Heartland Nursing Home in Marysville following a short illness.
He was born Oct. 7, 1934, in Union County to William D. and Marian Haughn Davis. On Dec. 18, 1959, in Union County, he married the former Virgie Ray and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa G. (Charles) Davis-Pierce of Rich-wood and Leslie A. Davis of Columbus; four brothers, Lowell (Virginia) Davis of Richwood, Clifford Davis of Richwood, Raymond Davis of Ponca City, Okla., and Harold (Rudy) Davis of Marion; two sisters, Shirley Criswell of Prospect and Mildred (Ralph) Cumston of Delaware; two special granddaughters, Jessica N. and Cheyenne N. Verbsky.
He attended the Richwood High School and was a veteran of the Army. He had worked for Walt Hamilton at Hamilton's Junk Yard in Richwood and since 1972, he had worked for the Chevrolet dealership in Richwood first for Verne Thomas and then for the Mills family as a mechanic.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Stofcheck Funeral Home in Richwood with the Rev. Randy Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Claibourne Cemetery.
